Anne D. Weede was born in 1941 in Martinsville,
VA. She graduated in 1962 from Southern Seminary, Buena Vista, VA
with an Associate Arts degree. She returned to the area in 1989 with
her husband, a retired Marine Corps officer.
Additional study began in 1990 with drawing and figure studies with
Pobai Heffelfinger, followed in 1991 with oil and watercolor classes under
the tutelage of Roy Rudasill. The next seven years were spent painting
and drawing on her own and in local workshops with Betsy Dillard Stroud,
Helmut Gransow and John Morgan. She has also attended Nimrod Hall
Summer Arts Program at Nimrod Hall in Millboro Springs, VA.

| Local shows include seven years with Rockbridge Regional
Fair where she has won several awards including Best in Show; Art in the
Round, Art in the Park, all the Rockbridge Arts Guild art shows at the
Rockbridge Regional Library, and donated and showed at the annual Art for
Heart shows. She has work in Artisans on Washington Street and was
a charter member of The Nelson Street Gallery.
Anne is an active member in The Rockbridge Arts Guild, has served as an officer and was on the Board of Directors. She was chairperson of the Rockbridge Regional Fair Art Show for the years 1997 and 1998. |
