I was first introduced to oil painting while an Art Education major at the University of Georgia. I minored in jewelry and metalwork and eventually added stained glass & blacksmithing to my repertoire of hobbies.

Life and children interrupted most of my creative outlets until around 2006

when I began, and continue, oil painting classes at Studio Eleven under the

study of Ryan Russell and Elizabeth Sauder.

Why oil painting?  I have always been drawn to the tactile response of painting with oil. Being lost in the experience of creating; the quiet, concentration, and discovery of oil painting continues to attract and inspire

me with the "in the moment" opportunity it allows.
