ALICE IRELAND

Alice Ireland whose primary aim is to achieve
a good likeness, as well as to portray people looking their best, executes
commissioned portraits in pastel. The portraits are painted using
her own photographic studies and they include people of all ages in all
walks of life.
She has participated in workshops with portrait painters John Houghton and Paul Leveille and taken portrait classes with Daniel Dempsey at the Beverley Street Studio School in Staunton, VA. Other educational pursuits in art have included classes with Florida and Lewisburg, WV, pastellist Katharine Johnson, P.S.A. In 1991, she won a purchase award for a pastel portrait at the Center for the Arts in Vero Beach, FL. Her work is presently found in homes in Vero Beach, FL, Lexington and Roanoke, VA and Charleston, SC. |
