ANNA BANGLEY

Anna was introduced to the
medium of watercolor by Maxine Foster some thirty years ago. She
is essentially self-taught, reading many books on watercolor techniques,
among them books by Ted Kautzky, John Pike and Frank Webb. She attended
John Pike’s summer sessions in Woodstock, NY, for two weekly periods, and
took workshops under Frank Webb, Jack Shields, and Albert Handel, among
others.
Anna has been accepted in juried shows at the Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville, the Fine Arts Center in Lynchburg, and the Virginia Watercolor Society. She has won awards in Staunton, Lynchburg, Hot Springs and Lexington, taking the blue ribbon for watercolor in the annual show of the Rockbridge Arts Guild in 2003. She is in the corporate collections of Suntrust Bank, Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc., and Bedford Federal Savings Bank, as well as many private collections. Anna is a member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and
the Rockbridge Arts Guild, and a past member of the Lynchburg Fine Arts
Center, Lynchburg Art Club, Inc., and the Sarasota, Florida Arts Guild.
